By instructing K&S Motors Ltd to inspect, diagnose, maintain or repair a vehicle, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Our Services
K&S Motors Ltd provides professional vehicle maintenance, diagnostics and repair services for cars, vans, trucks, commercial vehicles and fleets. Our services include Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs); scheduled servicing and maintenance; ECU diagnostics, programming and remapping; advanced diagnostics and fault finding; electrical diagnostics and repairs; wiring and electrical fault investigation; mechanical repairs; engine diagnostics and repairs; brakes, steering and suspension; clutch and transmission-related repairs; exhaust and emissions-related repairs; air-conditioning services; vehicle health checks; and general vehicle maintenance and repairs. The availability and suitability of a particular service will depend on the vehicle, its condition and the work required.
2. Estimates and Quotations
Estimates and quotations are based on the information available to us at the time they are provided. An estimate may change if further faults, damage or necessary work are discovered during inspection, dismantling, diagnosis or repair. Where reasonably possible, we will contact you for approval before carrying out significant additional work that would materially increase the agreed price. Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for 30 days and may be affected by changes in parts prices, supplier charges or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
3. Diagnostics and Fault Finding
Diagnostic charges cover the time, specialist equipment and technical expertise required to investigate a reported problem. Diagnostic fees are payable for the diagnostic work performed, regardless of whether the customer subsequently chooses to proceed with the recommended repair. Some faults may be intermittent, complex or caused by several components. A diagnostic investigation therefore does not guarantee that every existing or unrelated fault will be identified during the initial assessment. Additional diagnostic time may be required for complex faults and will be discussed with the customer where appropriate.
4. Authorisation of Work
By leaving a vehicle with us and instructing us to carry out work, you authorise K&S Motors Ltd to perform the agreed inspection, diagnostic, maintenance or repair work. Authorisation may be provided in person, verbally, by telephone, email, text message or another agreed communication method. Where additional work is identified, we will seek customer approval before proceeding where the additional work would materially alter the agreed scope or cost.
5. Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs)
K&S Motors Ltd provides Preventive Maintenance Inspections for commercial vehicles and fleets. A PMI reflects the condition of the vehicle and the items inspected at the time the inspection is carried out. Where defects or maintenance requirements are identified, these will be recorded or communicated to the customer or vehicle operator as appropriate. Unless specifically included in the agreed work, a PMI does not automatically include rectification of defects identified during the inspection. The vehicle owner or operator remains responsible for determining appropriate inspection intervals and ensuring that vehicles are maintained and operated in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory and operator requirements.
6. ECU Remapping and Vehicle Modifications
Where a customer requests ECU remapping, software modification or performance-related work, we will carry out the agreed service based on the vehicle and information available to us. Vehicle modifications may affect manufacturer warranties, insurance policies or other obligations. The customer is responsible for informing their insurer of relevant vehicle modifications and ensuring that the vehicle remains compliant with applicable requirements for its intended use. We do not guarantee a particular increase in power, torque or fuel economy unless expressly agreed in writing, as results can vary depending on the vehicle, condition, specification and use.
7. Parts
Parts supplied by K&S Motors Ltd may be new, reconditioned or otherwise appropriate for the repair, depending on availability and what has been agreed with the customer. Where a customer requests a particular manufacturer, brand or type of part, this should be agreed before the repair begins. If we agree to install parts supplied by the customer, K&S Motors Ltd is not responsible for the quality, compatibility, durability or failure of those parts. Additional labour resulting from defective, incorrect or incompatible customer-supplied parts may be chargeable.
8. Additional or Unforeseen Work
During repairs, previously hidden damage, seized or damaged components, previous poor-quality repairs or additional faults may become apparent. Where additional work is required, we will make reasonable efforts to inform the customer and obtain approval before proceeding where the additional work materially affects the agreed price.
9. Payment
Payment is due upon completion of the work and before the vehicle is released unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with K&S Motors Ltd in advance. Accepted payment methods should be confirmed with K&S Motors Ltd. Deposits may be required for specially ordered parts, major repairs or other work involving significant upfront costs. Where we have incurred costs following customer authorisation, those costs may remain payable if the customer subsequently cancels the work, subject to applicable consumer law.
10. Vehicle Collection and Storage
Customers should collect vehicles within a reasonable period after being informed that the vehicle is ready. If a vehicle is not collected after reasonable notice, K&S Motors Ltd reserves the right to apply reasonable storage charges. Any applicable charges will be communicated to the customer.
11. Road Testing and Movement of Vehicles
By leaving a vehicle with K&S Motors Ltd, you authorise our staff to move and, where reasonably necessary, road-test the vehicle for diagnostic, inspection, repair or verification purposes. Road testing will only be carried out where reasonably required in connection with the work being performed.
12. Personal Belongings
Customers should remove valuables and personal belongings before leaving a vehicle with us. K&S Motors Ltd cannot accept responsibility for items left in a vehicle except where loss or damage results from our failure to exercise reasonable care or where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Completion Times
Any completion date or time provided is an estimate unless expressly agreed otherwise. Delays may occur because of parts availability, supplier delays, additional faults, specialist work or circumstances outside our reasonable control. We will make reasonable efforts to inform customers of significant delays.
14. Warranties
Warranty arrangements may vary depending on the repair, work performed and parts installed. Where a specific warranty applies, relevant conditions will be communicated to the customer. Warranty coverage will not normally apply to unrelated faults, normal wear and tear, misuse, accidental damage, modifications performed by others or failure resulting from maintenance or aftercare instructions not being followed. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.
15. Existing and Unrelated Faults
Vehicles may have existing faults, wear, deterioration or previous repairs that are unrelated to the work K&S Motors Ltd has been instructed to perform. We are not responsible for unrelated or pre-existing faults simply because they become apparent while the vehicle is at our premises or following completion of other work. Where we identify a significant additional issue, we will inform the customer where reasonably practicable.
16. Commercial Vehicles and Fleet Customers
For commercial and fleet customers, K&S Motors Ltd may provide scheduled maintenance, PMIs, diagnostics, repairs and related services in accordance with agreed arrangements. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, responsibility for establishing appropriate maintenance schedules, inspection frequencies, operator compliance and the overall roadworthiness management of the fleet remains with the vehicle owner or operator.
17. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for providing accurate information regarding the vehicle, reported faults, previous repairs and relevant modifications. Customers must ensure that they have authority to instruct us to carry out work on the vehicle.
18. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service or believe there is an issue with work carried out by K&S Motors Ltd, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to inspect and investigate the matter. Please contact: Email: ksmotors.ltd@yahoo.com; Telephone: 07462 365654; Address: Tavistock St, Fenny Stratford, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2 2PP. Where a complaint relates to work carried out by us, customers should give K&S Motors Ltd a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and, where appropriate, address the issue.
19. Liability
K&S Motors Ltd will provide its services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including any statutory rights available to consumers. Subject to applicable law, we are not responsible for losses resulting from unrelated or pre-existing vehicle faults or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
20. Website Information
Information on our website is provided for general information. We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and current, but services, availability and prices may change. Nothing displayed on the website constitutes a binding quotation unless expressly confirmed by K&S Motors Ltd.
21. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, original website content, branding, text, graphics and images belong to K&S Motors Ltd or are used with permission. They must not be reproduced or used for commercial purposes without permission.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically. The current version will be available on our website together with the date of the latest update.
23. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects any rights available to customers under applicable UK consumer law.
